One year ended, another began, and I’m Uncle Ben for the fifth time.  Emma, if you’re reading this, you’re officially the smartest.

My life keeps rolling on, much as it has these last 15 months in the Big Apple. I work a lot. I go out with friends a lot. And no matter how many times I walk through Prospect Park, I’ll always be amazed at how great it is.

I don’t really do New Years Resolutions because I think they just set oneself up for failure, but I would love to work on a few goals I’ve had on the backburner for a while.  These are just a few issues I might like to resolve. You might call these “resolutions.” Damn.

  • I want to finish the 100 pushup program (I’m on week 1).
  • I want to finish at least one of the many side projects I’ve let gather dust over the years.
  • I’d like to read more. Currently I’m about 3/4 through A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius. Next on the list: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
  • I’m going to play Ultimate. I can’t let the fact that I no longer live in perfect weather keep me from playing the only sport where I don’t completely embarass myself.

I just hope I haven’t set the bar too high for myself.
