Today was a fantastic do-nothing day. I alternated between lounging in the hammock outside my room and socializing down in the dining hall. There was a brief frisbee session with some Israelis, but it was too hot to keep up for long.

El Retiro is a great place to spend the day. The staff is friendly and helpful, the other guests are all fun, and the grounds are beautiful.

The one productive thing I did was purchase a bus ticket to Antigua, which will be my home base in southern Guatemala for the next few days. Tomorrow will bring another 7 hour bus ride through the mountains. Supposedly, this one is on a proper bus. I’ll believe it when I see it.
